Company History

Apex manager, Lou Plevritis, has always had an eye for well-designed and highly functioning kitchens and bathrooms. In 1988 he started his career in the industry as an apprentice for a local company. Even then, his intent was to work hard, hone his skills, and satisfy his clients, with the ultimate goal of owning his own kitchen and bath business.

After only three years in the business, Lou was building custom kitchen cabinets. A few years later he had the opportunity to learn a completely different aspect of the business, and become a kitchen and bath installer. In 1998, with ten years of hands-on, industry experience, Lou decided it was time take his knowledge and expertise to the next level, and began searching for the perfect location to open his doors. After months of searching, he found the space he was looking for, and opened the doors of Apex Kitchen and Bath in Niles.

After being in business for only 10 months, Apex was ready to expand, and doubled the size of its showroom. Over the next 12 years, the business grew as Apex serviced the needs of thousands of customers, earning the reputation as a leader in the industry. We believe this success is due to our attention to detail and our dedication to fully understanding our client's needs. Additionally, our ability to take a customer's ideas from start to finish, from design to product selection to installation, makes the process all the more enjoyable. That, and over 75 years combined experience in the kitchen & bath industry, makes the Apex team hard to beat. 

In 2008 we began planning what we considered to be the ultimate kitchen and bath showroom. This new space would be the pinnacle – the Apex – in showcasing kitchens, bathrooms, wet bars, custom closets, mudrooms and custom hutches. Most importantly, we designed our displays to have live plumbing, allowing our clients to experience the true functionality the showerheads, body sprays, whirlpool jets, and other items that we carry. After 14 months of construction, on August 2, 2010, we opened the doors to our new state-of-the-art showroom in Morton Grove. In November, we had a Grand Opening party to celebrate with our friends, family and loyal customers. Photos from that evening, and our incredible new showroom, can be seen on our Facebook page
